  • Email from Mr. O' Meara - May 25th

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope you ar all enjoying the good weather. Some updates for you all as we approach the end of May:

1. Friday 26th (tomorrow), school will close at 12 p.m. as the teachers are attending inservice on the Primary Language Curiculum.

2. Tomorrow is also a jersey colour day - children encouraged to wear football, basketball top,  (any sport gear).  This is a fundraiser to defray costs of our Annual Sports Day on June 9th.  Donation of €2.

3 First Communion on Saturday for pupils in Scoil Carmel and four pupils here in 3rd class in Scoil Treasa.  We hope you all have a great day.

4.  Ballyboden St. Endas G.A.A. club is organizing mini blitzes for the local schools - 3rd/ 4th classes.  These take place next week on Monday/Tuesday - hurling,camogie, boys' football and girls' football. This will happen during school hours.

5 On Tuesday our school basketball teams are heading to the National Basketball Arena for thier finals.  We wish them luck!

6 Swimming for 3rd class pupils continues on Tuesday in Templeogue College Swimming Pool.

7. Confirmation for 6th Classes takes place on Wednesday May 31st and Thursday June 1st at 12p.m.  There are two classes each day..

8.  Drumcondra Tests all completed over the past two weeks.

9.. Cumann na mBunscol Sports take place in U.C.D. on Thursday June 1st.  Our athletics teams will be leaving schhol before 9 a.m.

10. June Bank Holiday Weekend- School closed on Friday June 2nd / Monday June 5th and Tuesday June 6th.

11. Photographer will be in school on Wednesday June 7th to take photos of Confirmation Classes.

12. School Sports Day will take place on Friday June 9th.

13. School Tours:  June 13th/14th - 6th Classes

14  Meeting for parents of incoming pupils in 3rd class will take place on Thursday June 15th at 7p.m. in school hall

15  Scoil Treasa will be hosting a Quiz for local schools on Thursday June 15th starting at 10 a.m.

16 School Tour 3rd Class: Tuesday June 20th 

17 School Tour 4th Class: Wednesday June 21st

18 School Tour 5th Class:  Wednesday June 28th

19.Graduation for 6th classes on Wednesday June 28th

20. Holidays: School closes on Friday June 30th at 12p.m. and will reopen on Thursday August 31st 2023 at 9.05 a.m.

April 2023 - Update from Mr. O' Meara

Dear Parents & Guardians,

​

As we face in to the Bank Holiday Weekend, just a few updates from Scoil Treasa. 

 

School is closed on Monday & Tuesday May 1st & 2nd.

 

We had a busy two weeks since our return from Easter holidays.

1 Swimming lessons started for 3rd classes in Templeogue College Pool on Tuedays and are going very well.

2.Our camogie team had a great win on Wednesday last v Holy Rosary. Well done girls.

3. The Quiz teams represented us in Tallaght Library on Wednesday 19th - We came away with third prize out of over 50 schools.  Well done to both teams.

4. On Friday last we took our Cross Country runners to Cherryfield for a Cross Country Challenge. Again, we had great success.  Well done to all those involved..

5. Athletics training continues each week and our teams will be going to UCD track on June 1st to compete in the Cumann na mBunscol Sports 2023.

6. Preparatiuon for our Confirmation Days continues with rituals in the church on Wednesdays.  Thanks to Fr. Peter for his help with this.

7. Our hurling teams are back in competition - the junior team had a win v Scoil Santain while our senior team were defeated by G.S. Taobh na Coille.  More games next week.

8. Arts Week finished today and we held our  'Art Exhibition' on Thursday from 3p.m. - 7p.m..  Thank you to all who visited. I am sure you enjoyed and appreciated the children's masterpieces and their creativity.

9.  Today we had a vist from Dudley Philips I.R.F.U. with The Six Nations Trophy, Triple Crown and The U20s Trophy- all won by Ireland's rugby team recently.  The pupils got photos in their classes and sang 'ireland's Call'  Thank you Dudley for your visit.

10.  Basketball for all classes takes place at lunch time with the finals soon to take place in National Basketball Arena.

11.  Congratulations to Ms McMullan and her husband, Alan on the birth of their baby girl, Lucy, on Saturday.  Great news!

12. Active School update:  We are working towards the Active School Flag.  Many different activitioes taking place during schoo time- dancing on the yard, active breaks,walsk etc.Pupilks are really enjoying their involvement.

13 Best of luck to Ciarán Coman, who represents Scoil Treasa in the mini games in Parnell Park tomorrow at half time in the Dublin v Westmeath Leinster Senior Hurling game

14. School is closed on Monday 1st ( Bank Holiday) and Tuesday 2nd (School Holiday).  We will reopen on Wednesday morning at 9.05a.m.

    As we come to the end of Term 2 some updates for you:

  1. Our School Quiz Teams took first and second place at the quiz in Castletymon Library on Monday last.  The teams now move on to the final in Tallaght Library on April 19th.

  2. Swimming Sessions will begin for third classes next term, starting with Ms Nolan and Mr. Murphy's 3rd classess.

  3. Hurling & Camogie Leagues begin on April 17th with three teams entered forrm Scoil Treasa.

  4. Our Cake Sale last week was a huge sucess with over €1500 raised by our Parents' Associtaion.  This money will be used to purchase new IT equipment ffor the school

  5. We have installed two new interactive display panels in two of our classrooms.  These will enhance teaching and learning.  They are expensive , costing in the region of €3,500 per room.  We hope to install them throughout the school over the next year or so- three more to be installed in May

  6. Our Book Fair raised over €2500 in free books for the school.  We are ordering new class novels for classes at present

  7. Seachtain na Gaeilge was 'go hiontach'.  We had a Ceolchoirm, Céilí, Quiz, Treasure Hunt etc.  Labhair na páistí a lán Gaeilge.

  8. Our 6th Classes have started the final stages of preparation for their Confirmation.  We had two rituals in the church recently with two more in April.  Confirmation takes place on 31st May/1st June.

  9. Our School basketball Teams have participated in leagues during the term and the finals will be held in National Basketball Arena on May 30th

  10. Our Athletics & Cross Country Teams are also out training with days coming up in Cherryfield and U.C.D. next term.

  11. We had a number of trainee teachers from D.C.U. with us over the past month.  They were excellent and the pupils worked really well with them.

  12. Best wishes to Ms. Mahony, Ms O' Neill and Ms. McMullan who start their maternity leaves tomorrow.  We wish them well and will keep you informed when we have good news.

  13. Afterschool Clubs have finished for this term and will begin again in Term  3. Well done to all involved.

  14. An Easter Camp takes place next week.  All places have now been booked out

  15. School closed tomorrow, Friday 31st March at 12p.m. for Easter Holidays and reopens on Monday 17th April

Dear Parents & Guardians,

Happy New Year to you all.  I hope you all enjoyed a good Christmas and kept safe and healthy during the holiday.

Scoil Treasa opens tomorrow at 9.05 / 9.10 am.  We look forward to welcoming the pupils back in.  Hopefully we will have a good term ahead.  It will be difficult at times, but the boys and girls have been great in the first term and I'm sure they will do the same this year.

Thank you to those parents who have been in touch for different reasons.  A number of pupils will be absent, I wish them all a speedy recovery and hope to see them back in school when they are fully well again.

We also have a number of staff who will be out for the next few days.  I wish them well also and look forward to them returning to their job soon.

A few reminders:

1.  Please wrap up well, extra layers of clothes will help. School will be cold these days with ventilation very important.

2. We received funding from D.E.S. on December 17th to purchase filters etc.  We will be working on that this week.

3. We ask all pupils to continue  wearing  masks/ face coverings as we did before Christmas holidays.

4.  Please do not send children to school if they have any  Covid-19 symptoms.

5. If your child is a household contact, they must stay at home also.

6. When/ if  a child displays symptoms in school we will contact you immediately and ask you to collect. 

7. I will notify you if there is a positive case in your child's pod(group) in class.

Enrolment for next year opens tomorrow..  If you have a child in 2nd Class in Scoil Carmel, you can enrol now on our school website www.scoiltreasa.ie

Can you please pass on this information to your friends / neighbours who may have children in 2nd class please.

COVID-19 vaccine information for parents of children aged 5-11

The HSE has published detailed information and guidance for parents about COVID-19 vaccines for children aged 5-11. This aims to help parents and guardians of 5-11 year old children make an informed decision when it’s time for their child to be offered a COVID-19 vaccine. 

 

Registration for the vaccine will open shortly, with priority being placed on children who are more at risk from COVID-19 or children who have a high-risk person in the family. Parents and guardians can read this information on

  • Storm Barra:  Due to Storm Barra, the D.E.S. is advising that all schools covered by an Orange warning should not open tomorrow, Tuesday 7th December.  Scoil Treasa will be closed.

  • Parent-Teacher Meetings
    Dear Parents & Guardians,
    Our Parent Teacher meetings will take place during the week beginning Monday November 22nd.  Given the current high level of COVID transmission within the community our meetings will take place by phone call.
    We are using the Aladdin App to set up these meetings. You will receive a notice over the next few days where you will be able to book a time slot to speak with your child's class teacher.  Please select a slot by Thursday November 18th.  The teacher will then phone you on your selected day and time. Teachers will have their mobile numbers blocked for reasons of confidentiality
    Please note:
    1. If, for any reason, parents wish to have two seperate parent / teacher meetings we can arrange this for you.  There will be extra slots.  Please contact your child's class teacher.
    2. Our S.E.T. ( Special Education Teachers) will be available to speak with parents also if needed, otherwise the class teacher will inform you of your child's progress in special education.
    3. Meetings will be scheduled every 10 minutes.
    4. Parents who wish to speak to me on any school  matter , please ring the office at 4513141.  If I am unavailable, I will get back to you.
